I CAN'T SLEEP AND I WONDER WHY

I should be doing other things right now besides posting in my blog. I should be sleeping -- I have to be at work by 1:30 p.m., so I can psyche myself up to sit though another "Doom and Gloom" session in the weekly supervisor's meeting.

I like to joke that I'm the least powerful member of the Anderson Independent-Mail's management team. Well this meeting basically proves it. I sit there, listening to other people report to the editor, and I rarely have anything productive to add. My job, to affirm what my boss says when he says "Right Arni?" It's a big waste of my time and makes my first day back in the office that much longer.

Maybe it's that dread that keeps me awake, or maybe it's the many things on my "To Do" list that I should have done during the past two days off.

Things I didn't do today:

* Didn't get to the grocery store
* Didn't do that load of laundry
* Didn't get my oil changed
* Didn't take the car to the dealership to get the radio fixed (YES STILL)

Not that I was complete slacker today, yes I know it's Wednesday already, but it's not really Wednesday until I get to sleep. I did get my hair cut. And I did go to the bank and get my check from working at the Brickyard 400 deposited.

And I learned a lesson today. If you get a check written to you, and your last name is mispelled, the bigger problem is if you go by a nickname and the teller can't figure out "Arni" is a derivative of "Arnold." True Story.

Well I think I may go read a book or something... maybe then I'll fall asleep.
