Rocky Mountain Hangover

Back from a weekend in Colorado. What a great part of the country. I've never been to the Rockies before, but now, I want to go back. I didn't get to see many of the former co-workers who live out in Colorado, but there's always next year.

This week's road trip took me to Colorado Springs with a side trip up I-25 to Denver for a Rockies game (Have I mentioned that my little travelling party likes to take in baseball games?) Having never been to Colorado before I tried to take in as much as I could, and that includes water because I didn't need the bad headache I heard you can get. At last count I think I drank about 15 little bottles of water in three days.

The rumors about living high in the mountains are true. Thin air does and exercise do mix, unless you are really out of shape like me. And you can get really lit up on a few drinks. Also why do Coloradoans wear vests, but not sleeves on their coats? And what's with the NATIVE vs. LOCAL thing?

The only low of the trip was the daily afternoon shower, which called off qualifying and the Lee Ann Rimes concert following Sunday's race. That and the plane ride home, where I found that I did have that headache you get at altitude after all, it just happened when I got home.

Call it a Rocky Mountain Hangover.
